Firsty, a bit of background………
Cass (or Cassandra Barron) came to our attention recently as a few of our regular workshop goers had the pleasure of attending her ‘Bookbinding with Cass’ workshops in Edinburgh.
When we heard that Cass was keen on exploring doing more workshops it seemed like an obvious natural fit to introduce her to Stampers Grove.
After having had the pleasure of meeting Cass ourselves we are even more excited and couldn’t wait to get started with this.
Rather than paraphrase what makes Cass tick the following is straight from her Cass’ Event Page
I am passionate about making books and using everyday, upcycled materials to create something both personal and unique. I make travel journals, wedding books and photo albums by commission but what I get a real buzz out of is sharing skills and teaching bookbinding workshops.
I work in collaboration with a range of organisations and cultural venues across Scotland to devise and deliver workshops, past partnerships include – Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art, The Edinburgh Remakery, Leith Academy, Dynamic Earth, Voluntary Action Service South Lanarkshire. I also run workshops in more informal settings, for parties, event openings and groups of friends.
Each workshop is tailor-made to fit the requirements of the group and everyone leaves with their very own finished book and the skills to make many more.
You can follow Cass on Facebook and see plenty of wonderful pictures showing what you can expect from one of her workshops. (Cass’ FaceBook Page is @BookbindingwithCass).
Without further ado, what will Cass be doing for us at Stampers Grove, and how can you get involved?
